Tratzberg Castle
| Tratzberg Castle, which sits imposingly between Jenbach and Schwaz at the eastern foothills of the Karwendel mountains, can look back on an eventful history. During the late 15th century, the original castle complex was owned by the Hapsburg Emperor Maximilian I. After a fire in 1492, Emperor Maximilian exchanged the ruins for a castle belonging to the rich Tänzel brothers, who – in 1500 – erected the first late Gothic section of the Tratzberg Castle we see today. The castle went through several owners until, in 1847, it was transferred to the Counts of Enzenberg, in whose possession Tratzberg remains today. Take a trip through time to the Middle Ages, and discover the art treasures concealed within Tratzberg's walls. And to keep all the family happy, the little ones can even enjoy a guided fairytale tour of the castle. | ![]() ![]() ![]() www.schloss-tratzberg.at |
